One Night Stands with Poems of Merit

Last night I took a poem to bed;
We nestled neatly like a couplet.

I buried my nose in the soft curve
At the nape of his sturdy neck.

Near dawn I slipped from our rest,
His letters inked across my breasts.

I could've known him had I lingered longer,
Had I only let his devices grow stronger.

He offered it all to me, I know,
But I prefer the obvious.

His lines are lost on a girl like me,
seduced by drive-through intimacy.
